Our prose and poetry, written during 'The Borders Project' - a literary collaboration between the Sarajevo Writers' Workshop and Atlanta's Narrative Collective - is being serialised in EuropeNow Journal. The first installment came out on 6 June, 2017, including my short story Tangle (original Klupko). English translation is done by Mirza Purić and photographic response provided by Vanja Čerimagić.
In January 2018, my short story Vrana (Kuća nema nebo) was published in Portal Strane. I was a writer-in-Residence at Q21/MuseumsQuartier in Vienna for two months this spring, and I will write more about this wonderful experience on my blog very soon. In August, the article Ko pije, a ko je dužan platiti porez, which discusses the absurd situation B&H freelancers have found themselves in, has been published in Digitalna Demokracija.
February 2017's publication of NEMA's special edition marked the end of the four-month-long project, titled 'Obscure Sorrows' or 'Neznane sjete'. Several remembers of the Sarajevo Writers' Workshop joined the collaboration: we each chose a sorrow from The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows to serve as the inspiration for our short stories and poems. My short story is called Uzvodno / Upstream and was inspired by the obscure sorrow 'Anchorage'.
In December 2016, I completed and published my first online workshop, titled Fiction Writing Workshop: #Imagination @Creation ∞Life. It is now available on Udemy.
In November 2015, after SWW participated in a public reading at 54. Sarajevski dani poezije (Sarajevo Days of Poetry), NEMA published an article / report which Nermana Česko and I wrote together. The article is called “Dan od poezije u Sarajevu" / "A Day of Poetry in Sarajevo”.
In late 2014, SWW collaborated with our colleagues and friends in Caracas, Venezuela, along with photographers in both cities. These two groups participated in IWP’s first Narrative Witness exchange – A Caracas-Sarajevo Collaboration.
In February 2015, our work has been showcased by the University of Iowa’s International Writing Program. I published two of my short stories during this exchange: “Child of Stone” and “Among the White Flowers”. For the second one, I personally collaborated with two phenomenal Venezualan artists, Efrén Hernández Arias and Alejandro Cegarra, by using their photos in my piece and basing my story on them. Please check out the entire Narrative Witness Collection.
In November 2013, I presented my academic paper “The Other in One: The Otherness in Golding’s Lord of the Flies” at the International Interdisciplinary Student Conference at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia, after which my paper was published in the collection titled: “It’s Not All Black and White: Perspectives on Otherness”, edited by Nika Škof and Tadej Pirc.
The following year, the paper was translated to Slovene and republished in the collection “Horizonti drugosti” (“Horizons of Otherness”).
